Chong Kwen Siong, PhD

Kwen-Siong Chong (S’03-M’09-SM’13) received the B.Eng., M.Phil. And Ph.D. degrees in electrical and electronic engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, in 2001, 2002, and 2007 respectively.

 

He is a co-founder of the NTU spin-off, Zero-Error Systems Pte. Ltd. (ZES), Singapore, and presently a Director of Engineering at ZES. He leads the engineering team on ultra-low soft-error rate library cell development, system design/payload design for satellite applications, and irradiation testing for single-event-effect analysis.

 

Before joining ZES, he was with NTU/Temasek Laboratories @ NTU (Singapore), and was principal investigator (PI), co-PI, and collaborator of several research projects, including the projects supported from National Science Foundation (Singapore), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (USA), Ministry of Education (Singapore), and Public Sector Research Funding (Singapore). His research interests include space-grade resilient circuits and systems, hardware security, and asynchronous Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) designs.

 

He has published more than 100 journal and conference publications. He is a co-inventor of more than 10 patents. Dr. Chong was the Chair of IEEE Circuits and Systems (CAS) Society, Singapore Chapter, in 2017 and 2018. He is/was as an organizing committee member for several Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) conferences, including the ASP-DAC-2014, DSP-2015, DSP-2018, SOCC-2019, ISICAS-2021, AsianHOST-2022, and ISCAS-2024. He has been a member of IEEE CAS Society VLSI Systems and Applications Technical Committee since 2009. He is an IEEE senior member. He is a Functional Safety Engineer: FS Eng (TÜV Rheinland) # 28823/24 – HW/SW Design.
